Cocoa Creations Challenge #1-Let’s Celebrate

While the retail side of Crop Chocolate has closed it’s doors, the social side is still up and running and a great place to go to share and learn about crafting and well….life.  The current design team is hosting weekly challenges on the Crop Chocolate contest page, Cocoa Creations.  Starting this week our first challenge comes to you from Christina:
In honor of my hubbies birthday this week, my challenge to you is this:  Create a card, layout, tag etc, to celebrate someone’s birthday!  Easy! You can use anything from your stash! I will be providing one lucky participant with a prize! Either a $25 gift card to a retailer of your choice or I will send you a scrappy surprise.  I would love to send you a cake but I doubt it would make it there in one piece or fresh!  Good luck ladies!!!

I did a card.  I am not sure who it is for yet but I have a bunch of birthdays coming up so I know I will be using it SOON!

I used Carta Bella kraft, October Afternoon and MME Indie Chic paper, Fancy Pants Corrugated, MME twine and brads, UmWow Studio layered clouds, White Zing embossing powder, gems, Distress ink, Paper Smooches sentiment.
IMG_7432Love all the dimension on this card!!
IMG_7433Love the white embossing powder on the chipboard clouds!!!   Don’t they look fluffy?!!
This challenge will be open through Friday May 24th, 10:00 am MST.  I will be watching for your entry!!

I have some winners!!

First… I haven’t said much about it because I was really hoping it wasn’t going to happen but one of my FAVORITE places, Crop Chocolate has closed it’s retail doors.  I am pretty sad about it and the only thing that is getting my through it is that Crop Chocolate is keeping the social aspect of the site up and running.  I have made some amazing friends on these boards and learned A LOT of things!!  I would not be the crafter I am today if I never came across Crop Chocolate.  I will be forever grateful for those friendships and that knowledge.  So to Jon, McCall, Amber and everyone at Crop Chocolate…THANK YOU!  There really aren’t any other words to express my gratitude…
OK, now I have 3 winners to announce!  To celebrate NSD Crop Chocolate and the design team hosted 8 challenges.  On my original blog post about this week of celebration I announced 2 chances to win.  The first way was to just comment on the post and the second was to enter all the challenges.  I also offered a prize to a random winner on the final Crop Chocolate design team project post.

May Switcheroo!

May already?!?  Can you even believe it??  This month, as you probably know, is SWITCHEROO.  So I will be showing you a set of cards that showcase a rosette with a washi tape accent.
Finished!
Win a couple of washi rosettes by checking out my tutorial over on The Crop, leave a comment there and come back over here and leave a comment too.
6-finished collage
I love this clean and simple card.  Just think of all the possibilities with all of the different washi tapes that are so big right now, I know you all have at least 5 or 10 (probably 40 or so) rolls of washi!!
Until next time…get inky often!
